How do we determine what to charge for a kid?

The base price for a doe kid from a first freshening doe is $400.
. From there, we increase kid prices after taking the following things into consideration.

Dam is at least a second freshener
We have had the chance to assess this doe's udder. We are satisfied with her udder attachments. Her udder is held high above her hocks. The capaciousness of her udder is appropriate for her frame and number of freshenings. In addition, we are pleased with her teat size and she milks easily. And since this doe has kidded at least once, we have had the chance to assess her offspring and at this point have determined she is a valuable herd member worthy of breeding again.

Dam is a Junior Champion
This award is given to dry does under 2 years of age. At this point, the doe is being judged on her general appearance and dairy strength. We strive to produce Nigerian Dwarf does who are more than just correct udders. We breed for structural correctness as well as a desirable general appearance. For this reason, we feel that this recognition given to a junior doe is an added advantage,

Dam is a Permanent Champion
Doe has been awarded three Grand Champion finishes at three separate shows, under at least two different judges.

Sire is a Permanent Champion
We realize that a buck is judged on his general appearance and that the quality of his dam's udder is not a consideration when being awarded Grand Champion; however, since we have chosen our bucks carefully based on their genetics which includes the correctness and capacity of their dam's udder, we believe that having a finished buck as a sire is an advantage.

Dam has received an "E" in mammary during ADGA Linear Appraisal

Dam has Advanced Registry
The Advanced Registry is a special section of records kept for those does who have met minimum requirements for production of milk and/or butterfat for their age while on test under official supervision, and bucks who have sired daughters meeting such minimum requirements.

Dam has received her 1-day milk star
While the Advanced Registry lactation record is of more value, because the production requirements for a one-day star milker test are so high, usually only quite deserving does can secure a star this way.

Sire is a Plus Buck / Star Buck
While a buck can get a star on the basis of his parentage, the plus (+) prefix before his name is always earned by siring worthy offspring. The usual way is to have sired at least three daughters by three different dams who have qualified as Advanced Registry
or Star Milkers. He may also earn the +B prefix by having two sons who are Advanced Registry Herdsires. A +B buck is always an Advanced Registry Herdsire. If he qualifies by having both three qualifying daughters and two qualifying sons, he is entitled
to the ++B prefix. A buck may have a total of only one star (*) and two pluses (++) before his name which looks like this ++*.
If a buck has a prefix of ++*B, it therefore means he has at least three daughters (from different dams) who are AR or Star Milkers, two sons who are AR Herdsires, and parentage with qualifying production records. Since both ancestry and progeny have been proven desirable for production, such a buck can be considered a valuable asset in a breeding program.

Dam or Sire has been awarded Superior Genetics designation
To qualify for Superior Genetics (SG), the doe or buck must be in the top 15% (85th percentile ranking or higher) and have a Production Type Index value of 0 or greater for their breed according to the Production/Type Idex (PTI) ranking at least once during their life. The ranking may be either in one area (PTI 2:1 or PTI 1:2) or in both areas.

Genetic pedigree
The price of kids from a specific pairing may be higher based on the proven milk genetics they bring to the table and/or the linear appraisal scores of their parents
